SAILING OCEAN VOYAGES ON BOARD EUROPA

Bark EUROPA follows the traditional sailing routes where favourable winds are to be expected. Since the year 2000 Bark EUROPA has been crossing oceans on a regular base and has a reputation of a ship that really sails. On these routes there will also be opportunities to set our stuns’ls (or Studding Sails). An occasional ship passing by, might be thinking they were in a different era when they see the Bark EUROPA passing by with up to 30 sails set.

En Route
An example of the route from the Northern to the Southern hemisphere and vice versa:

Sometimes during the voyage, there will be insufficient wind. The ship’s engines will then help to reach the scheduled harbours on time. These ocean crossings are no luxurious sailing cruises. All aspects of a sailor’s life will be experienced. For those of you who will be on board for a long time, there is not much difference between the permanent crew and the voyage crew.

2012
In 2012 EUROPA will sail the Atlantic Ocean twice. From May until July she will sail from Cape Town, South-Africa north to Saint Malo in France. During this voyage we will make a few stops, visiting St. Helena, Ascension Island and the Azores. A digital extensive voyagedescription is available.

In autumn 2012 we will sail from Amsterdam, the Netherlands towards Ushuaia, Argentina. Possible ports during this voyage: Lisbon, Las Palmas, Brasil and Argentina.

Transfer
We can help arrange the transfer. You can of course also make your own travel arrangements. Please make sure you arrive on time. The ship is not able to wait if you are too late.
