The year 2020 everything turned out to a bit different then planned, for you and also for us. After canceling all Pacific and Australia voyages and sailing an epic 81-day voyage, Bark EUROPA arrived in her home port of Scheveningen. All plans were changed and limited to a visit to various ports in the Netherlands. This Christmas the ship will not be staying in Antarctica but in port of the Dutch Island Terschelling.
Currently we are busy on board doing maintenance and preparing Bark Europa for returning to the seas and oceans. We are also busy making our new sailing plans. With the hopeful news of the first vaccines getting ready, our ideas for northern nature voyages in the second half of 2021 on board Bark EUROPA might just become reality. While nothing is set in stone yet, we are determined to hoist our sails again and set out to sea from June 2021 onwards if the situation allows us. Our idea is to explore the stunning nature around us, while sailing north. We won't visit any big cities but will focus on more remote areas and will create a responsible travel bubble on board. After that we plan to make our way back to South America in September for a new Antarctic season. Please join our newsletter to get the most recent updates.
