After a busy summer celebrating the 150th birthday of Canada we will seek the tranquility of the ocean with this long North to South crossing. We will leave Lunenburg, Canada to sail 6350 miles south, arriving after 38 days in our first stop: Salvador in Brazil. After 3 days regaining our strength and preparing the ship for her Antarctic sailing, we leave to our final destination: Montevideo in Uruguay. If you would like to stay on board during these days, please see the sailing schedule for the B&B option.
During the voyage there is plenty of time for Sail Training, and all those on board will learn the secrets of Tall Ship sailing. A highlight on the voyage will be the crossing of the equator, where hopefully King Neptune will come on board to grant us passage to the Southern Oceans.
The second leg to the South is between Salvador and Montevideo, Uruguay. This slightly shorter ocean voyage (17 days only) does have another character then the prior leg. In the first days of this voyage we can still enjoy the North East trade winds, but further along the way ever changing weather systems will dominate the area. The rather cold Falkland - current which runs along the east coast of South America will make the temperature drop and
will make the sailing challenging!
