Originally trained as a chef, Bart started his career working in several hotels and restaurants ashore before joining the Stad Amsterdam as a chef in 2014. During his time there, he sailed alongside several familiar crew from Bark EUROPA.
In 2020, he took on the role of Hospitality Manager, overseeing passenger activities and coordinating the hotel department. From the moment he first stepped on board, he knew that life at sea was something he wanted to pursue for the long term.
The Cape Horn trip from Auckland towards Ushuaia in 2026, will be Bart's first voyage on board.
