Ed is a highly experienced and dedicated engineer. He has been working in the maritime industry since 2004, amassing nearly two decades of expertise across various vessels. He has a down-to-earth attitude and knows the inner workings of ships like few others and is a key figure in maintaining the technical systems that keep a ship running smoothly.
Ed grew up with a fascination for the sea and mechanical systems, which led him to pursue a career in maritime engineering. He earned his Captain licence at the Nautical College of Enkhuizen in 2006, that opened the door to a range of roles and responsibilities on board various ships like the Zephyr, Ide Min and the Wylde Swan. He’s ensuring the safety and efficiency of the vessel during long and often challenging voyages. Having sailed over 8500 miles on the Europa, Ed is one of the most experienced engineers on board and is known for his professional and reliable nature when it comes to troubleshooting and maintaining complex systems.
Outside of work, Ed enjoys cruising around Friesland on his motorcycle and exploring the world whenever he gets the chance.
