Still learning

For 10 days I have now been on Bark Europa and I can say: I have arrived! My body and soul have adapted to the environment. Gone are the days of despair, and my favourite place is no longer hanging over the railing but everywhere on the ship; everyone feels this way, and not only me. Anguish and pain transformed to a sense of belonging and luck.
Vitamin Sea has taken over the rhythm, and days are flying by. We have forgotten what day it is a long time ago. It is simply another good day with good weather and good wind. The atmosphere on board is relaxed, easy, and never even a little aggressive; we have all become one big family and we laugh a lot!

I belong to the blue group, which includes members from Switzerland, England, Dubai, Zanzibar, and La Reunion. Our group is international, exciting, and what binds us is our love for the sea. We listen to one another, learn from one another, and have a good time together.
My senses are reborn! I can now distinguish 1000 kinds of blue! My sense of smell also reacts more sensitively to the scent of fresh coffee from the kitchen! What this kitchen whips up day in and day out for us is a feast!! I have never eaten better while at sea… but also the rest of the crew leaves me in awe every day. Even though they are all still very young, they display a certain calmness and security, which impresses me. At all times, people help you and teach you something new, everything in a highly professional manner and on the highest level!
I will still spend a few weeks on board, and today I realise, that I am changing. The long hours on night watch give me time to think, about what was and what is yet to be. Will my loved ones at home notice the difference inside of me and if yes, how will they react? Full of anticipation, I look into the future!
