Wander the decks of EUROPA
During SAIL Amsterdam 2025, you’re welcome to explore the decks during open ship hours, stand at the helm, look up at the rigging, and imagine life at sea. Our crew will be there to answer your questions. No need to book, just step aboard. Look out for QR codes along the way to discover De Verhalen van Bark EUROPA, a series of stories tied to the places you're standing.

Research station
On board Bark EUROPA, sailing and science go hand in hand, from studying marine biodiversity and collecting microplastic samples to photographing whale flukes that contribute to global research. In partnership with dedicated scientists and institutions, we support projects that deepen our understanding of the ocean and the life it holds. During SAIL, our research station is open daily, offering a glimpse into this work and inviting you to take part, to learn, observe, and connect with the sea in a different way.

Visiting with Kids?
Find the Cool 7! Seven Antarctic animals are hiding around the ship: the penguin, seal, albatross, petrel, krill, orca, and whale. Grab your Cool 7 coloring sheet, roam the deck, and see how many you can find. A perfect adventure for young explorers!

A journey inwards
Thinking about joining our upcoming voyage from Cascais to Tenerife? Prepare for a journey of personal growth. From 15 to 25 October 2025, this voyage offers space to slow down, disconnect from the rush of everyday life, and reconnect with yourself, guided by the rhythm of the ocean and moments of reflection led by facilitator Niek van Halteren.

Friends of Bark EUROPA
Friends of Bark EUROPA is a foundation that supports the ship and helps offer sail training to young people who might not otherwise get the chance. Donations contribute to trainee spots and to the ongoing preservation and maintenance of the ship, from restoring traditional details to ensuring she remains seaworthy for future generations.
During SAIL Amsterdam, you’ll find donation points on board. Every contribution helps keep the spirit and craftsmanship of traditional sailing alive.

Join the clean up!
During Sail Amsterdam, we’re organizing a harbor clean-up to give something back to the beautiful city that welcomes us home. Join us for a few hours of meaningful action. Details about dates and times will be shared soon, keep an eye out and help keep our waters clean together!
