History
Built in 1911 as a light ship on the German river Elbe, Bark EUROPA transformed to a sail training vessel since 1986. Eversince, Bark EUROPA has sailed many nautical miles to the most remote parts of our planet.
Sustainability and research
At Bark Europa, respecting the oceans is at the heart of it all. We strive to increase the awareness of our trainees and draw attention to the oceans and their vulnerability during our voyages by partnering up with various research organizations and universities.
