Awakening the body

North Atlantic - 35° 28.5’ North, 10° 09.6’ West

On this Saturday of our expedition we focused on the awaking of the body through breathing exercises.

In the past days we have reflected on and overthought big themes like Chronos and Kairos time and life stories. Today was about activating the body and deeply understanding how our body dances between the states of growth and survival.

These primal states help us to use the energy available for the need at that point in time; either surviving short term threats or growing, renewing the body for long term health. This process, directed by our autonomous nervous system, can be controlled by understanding how you can change your breathing and with that take charge of your state.

The daily question is; “How do you use your senses?” And in the workshops of today we focused on the connection between body and mind and how the different levels of stress change this connection in specific ways. Afterwards we  earned how you can easily switch from states by consciously using your breathing.
