Approaching Auckland

We were coming to the end of our voyage. As we entered the harbour in Auckland, the tall white city buildings now seemed foreign to us after days on end out in the wild Pacific Ocean.

We had built a home onboard, a community. The journey is brief in the vastness of time, but long enough to build new friendships, daily routines and feel at home.

It is quite incredible to think about our ship, us and where we have been. A cluster of people, a small community, with all what we need contained, gliding through the ocean surface. Travelling together far out in the largest ocean on earth, driven forward by the wind and the currents. Now the business of land is waiting. We go back to our loved ones, to our permanent homes and to our land routines. But the home and the connections we have built out here in the open ocean far away from the rest of the world will still be with us in our hearts, in our memories and in our new friendships.
