Sailing north in 2027
Atlantic Ocean Voyages
After two years away, Bark EUROPA sails home. In April 2027 she leaves the Namibian coast and turns north — across the South Atlantic to St Helena, on to the Azores, into France, and finally back to Scheveningen. Around 7,500 nautical miles, three months and one equator. We have split it into four voyages, and you can join any of them.
Namibia to the Azores
Fifty days across the South Atlantic, we aim to call at St Helena — a volcanic island twelve hundred miles from the nearest continent. Trade winds, an equator crossing, and five weeks of open ocean.
The Azores to La Rochelle
Twelve hundred and fifty miles of North Atlantic, then the Bay of Biscay, then one of the finest arrivals in Europe: in past the Île de Ré and between the medieval towers of La Rochelle's old port, under sail.
