Feb 9, 2015

Logbook

The weather is good enough to try and make landfall on Desolation Island. With the help of radar, our own eyes and the maps available for this bay the captain gives the sognal to drop anchor. Around to 6h30 most of us wake up and when we get on deck we are all suprised to see land and very happy to be near Desolation Island. It is absolutely wonderful to see land again after three days at sea and we are all in great anitcipation of our visit on shore. Everybody is looking forward to it and after breakfast we van ready ourselves. Desinfected and packed with our camera gear we step into the zodiacs. soon we see pinguins swimming and jumping our of the water!
