The Drake is treating us well
Back in our sea watches, we are all awake and asleep at different times. From midnight to noon we have sailed 80 miles – partly on engine, but mostly under sail. We are heading to the North West, soon reaching the Pacific. Around 14 we are making a good speed of about 7-8 knots. The winds are forecasted to turn more to the West, which is perfect looking at our course now. A depression is passing, but perfectly slow and far enough in the North. The ship is very silent today – everyone seems full of impressions after Antarctica. All possible places to take a nap are taken. During the evening the wind drops down a little. We are heading in the good direction, with a good speed with a stable tack. It is a little wet outside, fresh and rainy, but no bad weather to speak of. The Drake is treating us well.
