Our stay in Punta Arenas was a very windy one. Wind gusts of 45 knots on a regular basis! On the pier you have little or no protection from the wind so we got the full blow with every wind gust. The last 2 days an ice breaker moored alongside the other side of the pier and that helped a bit protecting us from the wind. We have used all mooring lines we have on board and luckily all went well. Departure was first delayed but at midnight the wind died out and we decided to go.
