Known for his calm manner, friendly nature, and a healthy dose of sarcasm, Eric is not only one of our most experienced captains but also plays a crucial behind-the-scenes role in ensuring the ship runs smoothly. With an eye for detail and for staying on top of all the technical systems, Eric manages the ship’s engineering and IT/ICT systems, using his extensive maritime and technical knowledge to keep everything in check.
Eric is incredibly dedicated and deeply invested in the ship and crew. One of his most remarkable achievements was captaining Bark EUROPA on its longest voyage to date—sailing with a crew of 19 from Ushuaia, Argentina, to Scheveningen, Netherlands, a journey of over 10,160 nautical miles completed in 81 days.
When he’s not on board, Eric enjoys the peace of sailing his own boat, exploring new places at his own pace, or spending time in Australia.
