Tall ship Bark EUROPA
The ship
Since the year 2000, the Bark Europa has been crossing oceans and seas. Our voyages bring us to remote islands and cities all over the world, following the favorable winds of traditional sailing routes. This has brought her to all continents, sailing the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Ocean, as a true Ocean Wanderer.
Sail training voyages
Bark EUROPA is a sail training vessel and we call our guests 'voyage crew'. This means that Europa's permanent crew will train you to be a sailor. No experience is needed, our crew will learn you everything along the way.
Life on board
Unlike going on a cruise, on board Bark EUROPA you will be going on a hands-on, active sailing adventure. The mix of beginners and more experienced tall ship sailors creates a learning atmosphere on board where each person can contribute in their own way.
-
Slow Travel & Awareness
We prioritize slow travel, fostering understanding and appreciation for the environments we visit. We aim to inspire positive change within our voyage crew.
-
Community
With a small group of no more than 40 guests, all united by a shared passion for sailing and adventure, the sense of a close-knit family feeling quickly grows, fostering deeper connections every day.
-
Active Participation
Unlike cruises, our active sailing holidays require guests to participate in sailing the ship, steering, and sail handling for the full experience. Teamwork is key to keep the lady sailing.
Cabins
On board Bark EUROPA we have 11 cabins available for voyage crew, three 2-person cabins, four 4-person cabins and four 6-person cabins. Each cozy bunk comes with sheets, a duvet, towels and an ensuite shower and toilet. Couples can book 2-person cabins or share a 4-person cabin, while single travellers are placed in 4- or 6 person cabins. Enjoy a walk through the ship with our virtual 3D tour.
Living areas
With different areas such as the library, the lounge, poker corner and deckhouse, Bark EUROPA is perfect for ocean crossings and longer voyages. Whether you prefer quiet reading in the library or socializing in the deckhouse, there's a space for everyone. The deckhouse offers a place to enjoy a drink at the bar, play a board game or just enjoy a good chat. The lounge serves as a space for meals, lectures and movie screenings.
