When you book your flights, please allow enough extra time in your schedule to avoid any problems with embarkation in case of delays, lost luggage etc. If you have to travel for more then 8 hours or if alternative transport is limited please plan to arrive (minimal) one day before embarkation. Please also keep in mind that you take enough time between disembarkation and your flight home, preferably a flight one or more days later. If you do want to fly the same day of disembarkation we advise you to book a flight end of the day.
It is your own reponsibility to arrange the correct Visa for all countries you visit during travelling to, from and on the ship. Please check with your local embassy of the countries you visit to see if you need to arrange any visa or permit.
When wandering the world it is important to be properly insured in case you need help during your travels. When booking a voyage on board Europa you need to have a travel insurance covering your voyage and a healthcare insurance in your own country. We also advise you to book a cancellation insurance.
When booking a new travel insurance and also when you already have a travel insurance, check if the conditions match with your sailing expedition on board Bark Europa. Emergency assistance, repatriation in the event of serious accident or death and coverage of medical costs are the most important parts of your insurance. For most of our voyages you will need an insurance with worldwide coverage. Some insurances mention certain forms of sailing as an exception. When in doubt contact your insurance company. Keep in mind when contacting your insurance that you are not a participant in a race or competition, but are booking an active holiday, just at sea instead of land.
For Antarctica expeditions, please make sure Antarctica is not excluded from your coverage and check if a limit is mentioned for costs of repatriation.
It often happens that you book your voyage with the Bark EUROPA a long time before the actual embarkation date. Life may offer you events that will ask you to cancel your booked voyage. We strongly recommend you to think of arranging a cancellation insurance covering the non-refundable costs of your voyage fare, flight- and other travelcosts.
If you already have a cancellation insurance please check if it suits your current travel plans. There may be a limit to the fee covered on your policy.
