Telefon Bay

Good evening,

POS:  62*45,0 S 062*08,0 W
COG:  310
SOG:  4 kts
WND:  NNW 5 bft
SEA:  3.5 - 4 meter

This morning we did a last landing in Deception Island at Telefon Bay. After that we passed Neptunes Bellows in beautiful conditions and then we were on our way to the Drake. For a bit the wind decreased and that is just the gap we needed to get out between the islands. We're almost through that part, but not yet. With two engines we're steaming into big swell of 4 meters. The deep ocean meets the shallow island waters here.

Once we're out in deep water the sea will get a little less steep. For now it is rocky with not too much wind. Slowly the NW'ly will pick up over night. We'll check the direction and with that see which course to follow to gain as much distance in direction Beagle plus westerly for later winds. Hopefully we'll be under sail by tomorrow this time

Keep you updated!
