We've caught up with the Sun

MONDAY 13TH of June 2022,  12.00 Ships time = Gmt.

NE Tradewinds

18 days Out from Ascension

23°-44'N : 040°-25'

Course= -NortherlyFull & By SB-tack, Speed; around the 7 to 8 kts

Wind =EbyN  5.  Seawater 25,8° Celsius

We are pressing Europa a bit, because we should not spill this nice strong breeze before we end up in the Horse latitudes. (Azores High) Getting more North quickly is the Motto for the last 24 hrs.

With a barometer of 1022 you would expect nice blue skies but we have a very high humidity and banks of low clouds passing with some wind changes. Little troughs are coming from the Iberian Peninsula and brought to us by the Trades.

Sailsetting = 3 jibs all the normal squares (no skys’ls) only 2 stays’ls on the mizzen and the spanker.

We still have a swell of around 2,5 meter and the port scuppers are filled.

This morning at 08:01 we managed, we caught up with the Sun, our Latitude was the same as the Suns Declination……. and the winner is…..Lenny!

He will be greatly awarded this afternoon.
